- Recientes hallazgos en el área agrícola de Raya-Raya (Quebrada de Humahuaca-Noroeste argentino) han permitido comenzar a delinear la ocupación del Formativo en el sector centro-sur de la Quebrada. El análisis de Raya-Raya reveló la presencia de viviendas de poblaciones formativas (600 a. C.-1000 d. C.) de raigambre quebradeña. A ella se suma cerámica de tradición San Francisco (de las tierras bajas orientales) en la mencionada área agrícola y en el cercano Pucara de Volcán. Los mismos permiten discutir cómo estas tempranas poblaciones habrían construido el paisaje a partir del encuentro de dos tradiciones diferentes en un mismo espacio. ENGLISH: In Search of the Formative Period in an Area of Quebrada de Humahuaca (Tumbaya, Province of Jujuy, Argentina). Recent findings in the agricultural area of Raya-Raya (Quebrada de Humahuaca, northwestern Argentina) allow us to begin to understand Formative Period (600 B.C.–1000 A.D.) occupations of the south-central section of the Quebrada. The analysis of Raya-Raya reveals the presence of Formative Period dwellings. There is also evidence of San Francisco ceramics, from the eastern lowlands, in this area and in the nearby Pucara de Volcán. These findings allow us to discuss how the landscape was built by these early populations from the encounter between two different traditions in the same space.
