The research in particular discusses the career and the thematic tendency of Herry Lamangan's works of poetry in the living world of modern javanese literature. The annlysis is carried on the ground of the micro and macro theories of literature. The analysis on the career and the thematic tendency of his poems gets on a conclusion that Herry Lamongan is, in the world of modern javanese literature, well known (1) as relatively productive poetry writer, (2) as a serious poet in spite of his being poet was simply a so-called parttime job, (3) as a poet whose works of poetry consistently expose various human problems of life, especially those of personal, social, and metaphysical ones.
