- The article deals with the peculiarities of the work of the leading concertmaster in classes of classical dance in higher educational establishments of culture and arts. The content and structure of the choreographic lesson and the main directions of concertmaster activity in work with students of cultural institutions are analyzed. The methodological approaches to the selection of repertoire for carrying out individual exercises, or work at the machine are revealed. The reference examples given in this article are of a recommendatory nature and can be replaced by young specialists in the preparation of their classes. Outlines the main areas of work with choreographers in the classics of dance, provided a description of the construction of exercises. The performance of the concertmaster and its functions on classes in dance classes is given. The methodological basis of the research is observation, due to the presence of twenty five years of experience of the author of the article as the leading concertmaster of the choreography department of the separate unit «Mykolaiv branch of the Kiev University of Culture and Arts». Use of the system approach for disclosing a topic in various directions. Analysis of the data obtained and their generalization as a method was used to summarize the results of the study.
