- Whitening gravitational-strain data is a common procedure prior to searches for transient events. This program whitens strain data by moving normalization of standard deviation in the spectral domain. This procedure also suppresses violin modes. The program generates whitened data Z=(H1,L1) in CSP with accompanying plots. Included are audio clips of raw and whitened data for GW170817. The ascending chirp of the merger GW170817 is clearly brought about in whitened data.
