- Aim of the Study. The purpose of this article is to analyze the features of verbal representation of the image of «heart» in the novel by Vasyl Shklar through the prism of the phraseological fund of the language and to clarify the peculiarities of the linguistic expression of cordocentrism in the work of the writer. An analysis of artistic text on the subject of the comparison of hidden meanings of the subtext and the contextual and linguistic expressions of these meanings will reveal the individual component of the concept heart. The concept of «textual picture of the world» as a form of the text of a work of art has been considered in the article. The concepts HEART and SOUL have been analyzed and compared in the text space of the novel «Tin Sovy» («Shadow of Owl»), as having a double expression: material and allegorical. Results and Discussion. It has been proved that the linguistic image of the heart is composed of such semes: ‘the receptacle of feelings and emotions’; ‘love in its broadest sense’; ‘then in a person who enters into a spiritual and emotional contact with another person and the whole world as a whole’; ‘the cognitive center of man’, ‘the spiritual center of man, the locus of the soul’.
