  • The pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is a rare epidermal bullosa dermatosis, usually occurring in multiparous during the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy or possibly in the postpartum. It is linked to anti-BP180 autoantibodies whose synthesis is due to a break in the immunological immunity mother-fetus. PG is manifested by a more or less extensive erythema-papular itchy eruption, evolving towards the inconstant but evocative appearance of vesicles and bubbles. The diagnosis is confirmed by direct immunofluorescence. The fetal prognosis is good, but early onset in the 1st or 2nd trimester of pregnancy and the presence of bubbles are risk factors for prematurity or hypotrophy. The evolution is towards progressive healing after delivery, sometimes after a postpartum thrust. Recurrence at later pregnancies is common. Through this observation and a review of the literature the authors will try to focus on the physiopathology, clinical profile, immunological diagnosis, treatment and evolution of PG.
