- AbstractThe purpose of this research was to investigate the LKS development valid problem solving based on the material and practical social arithmetic. the type of research is the development of research (Research and Development), which consists of three stages, namely, the definition phase, Design, and development. The subjects were students of class VII SMP N 7 Tambusai in the first semester of the school year 2015/2016. The instrument used in this study is the validation sheet and questionnaire practicalities. Process undertaken LKS valid to get includes the step of defining, designing and development, during the development stage LKS validator validated to four people with an average gain of 3.31 validation categorized as very valid. While the practicalities obtained based testing and assessment by an expert using a questionnaire practicalities expert, junior high school teachers, and students class VII SMP N 7 Tambusai, with an average of 81.6% with the practicality of a practical category. So it can be concluded that based LKS valid and practical problem solving.
