- The high incidence of schizophrenia in the inpatient unit of RSJD Sungai Bangkong Pontianak from 2012-2015, so it is necessary to evaluate the characteristics of drug use. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the use of antipsychotic drugs used in schizophrenic patients at the Bangkong River Mental Hospital Pontianak for the period January-December 2020. This study used a cross-sectional design and the sampling method was purposive sampling. Subjects in the study were patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. The object of the study used medical record data in January-December 2020. The results showed that the male sex was more likely to suffer from schizophrenia 76.36% and the female was 23.64%; age in the range of 26-45 years the most experienced schizophrenia with a total of 59.99%; the most common symptoms were positive symptoms of 80.24% and negative symptoms of 19.76%; Most schizophrenic patients are male with an age range of 26-45 years who have positive symptoms.
