- The shortage and excess of pharmaceutical preparations in hospitals can occur if they are not appropriately managed. The purpose of this research: (1) Describe the grouping of psychotropic drugs that fall into group A, group B, and Group C based on their investment value, (2) Calculating the number of psychotropic drugs to be ordered through calculations using the EOQ method, (3) Calculating the ideal amount of buffer stock to avoid stock-outs for psychotropic drugs. This research is an observational study with a descriptive cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out retrospectively using a financial database at the Sungai Bangkong Mental Hospital. The data collected includes a list of names of psychotropic drugs, the number of uses of psychotropic drugs, and the price of psychotropic drugs. The results of this study: (1) Classification of psychotropic drugs using the ABC method. Group A psychotropic drugs, namely injection diazepam 5 mg/ml, and lorazepam 2mg. Group B psychotropic drugs, namely clobazam 10 mg and Diazepam 5 mg. Group C psychotropic drugs, namely alprazolam 0.5 mg, and Diazepam 2 mg mg. (2) The calculation results using the EOQ method, the optimum number of orders for injection diazepam 5 mg/ml, and lorazepam 2mg which belongs to group A is 572- 73074 items. (3) Determination of the buffer stock obtained for the total stock for diazepam injection, namely 184 vials, lorazepam 2 mg 4,612 tablets, clobazam 10 23.800 tablets, diazepam 5 mg 15,129 tablets, alprazolam 0,5 mg 13,099 tablets, and diazepam 2 mg 17.158 tablets.
