- ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji penerapan strategi pemodelan kognitif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VIIB SMP Negeri 2 Pungging. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis pretest-posttest one group design. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah delapan siswa kelas VII B yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal terendah. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik non parametrik dengan menggunakan uji tanda. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh ρ = 0,004 dengan taraf kesalahan α = 0,05 maka ρ < α dari hasil analisis tersebut dapat dilihat adanya pengurangan skor setelah diberi perlakuan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi pemodelan kognitif efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal Kata kunci : Konseling kelompok strategi pemodelan kognitif dan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal ABSTRACT the purpose of this research is to applying counselling strategy of cognitive modelling to interpersonal communication ability on VII-B class at Pungging 2 State Junior High School. This research is a pre experiment with pretest posttest one group design. This research uses questionare to collect the data subject in this research is ten student’s of VIIA which have lowest interpersonal communication ability. In analizing the data, the examiner used non-parametric stratistic with signal test. From a data analysis ρ = 0,004 and α = 0,05 and the result shows that ρ < α. whitin this condition Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, it means that applying counselling strategy of cognitive modelling could improve interpersonal commucation skill. It’s means that this counselling strategy of cognitive modelling can be use to help the students improve their interpersonal communication skill Key word : Group Counselling Strategy of cognitive modelling and interpersonal communication ability
