- The purpose of this research is to improve the activeness and student’s learning result in Social studies subject material Autonomy Region. Researchers used student activity sheets observation to determine the activeness level of students in the application of the Jigsaw learning model. There for measuring student’s learning result with a written test. Jigsaw implementation process in cycle 1 there are 6 members of the expert group with 6 students, and in Cycle 2 there are 4 groups of experts with members are 9 students. There are differences in the results from 2 cycles carried out, namely an increase in student’s all indicator learning activenessand learning result, so it can be concluded that the hypothesis of the action in this classroom action research that reads " the application of the Jigsaw learning model Social studies learning can enhance the activeness and student’s learning resultof class IXA SMPN 1 Srono first Semester Academic Year 2013/2014" is acceptable.Keywords: activeness, learning result and learning model jigsaw
