  • The aims of this research is to improve the skills of expressing a simple descriptive monologue for class VII A in SMP Negeri 2 Genteng , Banyuwangi second semester of academic year 2012/2013 through ICARE system. When the research in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013, February to May 2013. The place of research in SMP Negeri 2 Genteng , Banyuwangi . While the subject of this study is the students of class VII SMP Negeri 2 Genteng , Banyuwangi , there are 31 students. The method that’s used in this study is the method of classroom action research, and it’s done in three cycles. Each cycle has four stages, those are Planning, Acting, Observation, and Reflecting. Because using ICARE system, then the implementation / acting in every cycles through five stages, such as: Introduce, connect, apply, reflect, extend. Data analysis was using a comparative descriptive analysis followed reflection. The result of research shows that by using ICARE system can improve the skills of expressing a simple descriptive monologue in English for students of class VII A 2 SMP Genteng , Banyuwangi , second semester of academic year 2012/2013.Keywords: ICARE system, skills, descriptive monologue, simple.
