- Elite is a Netflix production series with the genre of thriller and teen drama. In Elite there are moslem families consisting of parents and their two children. How the depictions of families or minority groups in the European (Spanish) in this production series attracts attention to research. By using Charles Sanders Peirce's theory and semiotic method, this research intends to find out how the depiction of the Moslem family in the Elite series and at the same time reveal the hidden meanings in it. The results showed that there were positive and negative elements depicted in Moslem family life. Positive elements such as religion and obeying religious teachings, while negative elements such as lack of communication between parents and children. Here also the role of the father is more active than the role of the mother, meaning that men have a bigger responsibility than women. The positive and negative elements described in this series show a balance; that life must be balanced.
- Elite adalah serial produksi Netflix dengan genre thriller dan drama remaja. Di Elite ada keluarga muslim yang terdiri dari orang tua dan dua anaknya. Bagaimana penggambaran keluarga atau kelompok minoritas di Eropa (Spanyol) dalam serial produksi ini menarik perhatian untuk diteliti. Dengan menggunakan teori dan metode semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce, penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggambaran keluarga Muslim dalam serial Elite dan sekaligus mengungkap makna yang tersembunyi di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat unsur positif dan negatif yang tergambar dalam kehidupan keluarga muslim. Unsur positif seperti agama dan menaati ajaran agama, sedangkan unsur negatif seperti kurangnya komunikasi antara orang tua dan anak. Di sini juga peran ayah lebih aktif daripada peran ibu, artinya laki-laki memiliki tanggung jawab yang lebih besar daripada perempuan. Elemen positif dan negatif yang dijelaskan dalam seri ini menunjukkan keseimbangan; bahwa hidup harus seimbang.
