  • This research was carried out based on phenomena in class VIII of Gajah Mada Middle School in Bandar Lampung which showed that students experienced moderate anxiety, with indicators such as palpitations, forgetting what they wanted to say next, and feeling panicked. The objectives to be achieved in this study are to find out the picture before and after being given treatment and find out whether Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) counseling can reduce student anxiety in Gajah Mada Middle School, Bandar Lampung. This type of research is a quantitative research pre-experimental designs. Researchers used One-Group Pretest-Posttest Designs because they did not use a control group. The sample of this study was 19 students from class VIII of Gajah Mada Middle School in Bandar Lampung. The sample selection of researchers uses purposive sampling, namely the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations. There is a decrease in student anxiety seen from the mean before being given treatment 55.7 and the mean after being given treatment 33.7, this is also evidenced from the tcount provisions greater than the table (24,044˃1,734), thus the anxiety of students at Gajah Mada Middle School in Bandar Lampung experiencing changes after being given rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) services. So it can be concluded that rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) has an influence in reducing student anxiety in Gajah Mada Middle School, Bandar Lampung. So, it can be concluded that the results of the hypothesis Ha are accepted and H0 is rejected.
