- Communication is a form of behavior of someone both verbal and non-verbal which is responded by other people. Every form of behavior that expresses a particular message, so it is also a form of communication. Based on the results of observations and distributing questionnaires that the author did in SMA Negeri 2 Padang Cermin District. Pesawaran there are still class XI students who have low interpersonal communication such as: talking when someone is delivering a message, stammering when delivering a message or purpose, often using language that is difficult to understand resulting in multiple interpretations, low willingness to admit mistakes and tend to blame others, lack of familiarity, refute orders. On this basis the researchers tried to apply personal-social guidance services to improve students' interpersonal communication. The purpose of this study was to determine students' interpersonal communication and to find out whether interpersonal communication can be improved by using the personal-social guidance service of students of class XI of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Cermin Kb. Offer. The method used in this study is a pre-experimental study with the design used in this study one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in the study was 10 students in class XI of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Cermin District. 2016/2017 school year offers that have low interpersonal communication. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, questionnaire methods, interviews, and supporting technical documentation. The results of data analysis showed that there was an increase in students' interpersonal communication at school before being given group counseling services and after being given services. This is shown from the hypothesis testing using the t test (t-test), from the results of the pretest and posttest obtained in the experimental group t count = 50,250> t table 0.05 = 2.262, df = n-1 = 10-1 = 9 with p value <t table (0.000 <0.005), then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that personal-social guidance services can improve students' interpersonal communication. Suggestions proposed by researchers, namely for guidance teachers need to follow up if there are students who experience obstacles or difficulties in communicating in their environment. Because this can influence learners in the process of interacting and teaching and learning, by being able to implement personal-social group counseling services.
