- Every day new sites are always popping up and the number is always increasing. These sites provide information that is easily accessible by anyone, anytime. Sustainability of this process would cost computer performance by forming a log file on the server and client. If the file is not organized well, then this file will continue to grow and slow down the performance of an operating system. This means that if this happens on a computer network, this file will get bigger and become a burden that can interfere with the accumulation of information systems. Proxy or more specifically referred to as a web proxy, used for sharing Internet and as a bulwark of defense is good enough to block or filter out sites. It can also restrict access to the Internet on our network. In the solution used a Squid proxy server software that is configured as a caching proxy server, url filtering and http internet access protocol. So that only certain people are able to use internet access. This research used Ubuntu 4.10 Server as server operating system, Apache Web Server as web server software that integrates with MySQL software for user authentication management system.
