- The aim of this research was to describe the activity of scientific approach based in Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia book for grade VII of SMP/MTs published by Erlangga. It used descriptive qualitative method. The data source was Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia book for grade VII of SMP/MTs published by Erlangga. The result of this research was found that there were 35 patterns of the scientific approach in Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia book for grade VII of SMP/MTs published by Erlangga. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kegiatan pendekatan saintifik yang terdapat pada buku Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia kelas VII SMP/Mts terbitan Erlangga. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah buku Mahir berbahasa Indonesia kelas VII SMP/MTs terbitan Erlangga. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan 35 pola pendekatan saintifik pada buku Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia kelas VII SMP/MTs terbitan Erlangga.Kata kunci: buku teks, kegiatan, pendekatan.
