Efforts to Improve Social Science Learning Outcomes Using the TSTS Type Cooperative Learning Model

- This research is motivated by the problems faced by SDN grade IV students in the learning process, especially social studies learning, where the learning process is carried out only by using the lecture method, This research method uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a John Elliot model design. This research model consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that student discussion activities, scientific attitudes of students' curiosity and open thinking, and understanding of student learning outcomes have increased, this can be seen from the increase in the value of activity, scientific attitudes, and understanding of student learning outcomes in each cycle. The results of the average value of students' discussion learning activities in the first cycle was 2.63, the second cycle was 2.95, and the third cycle was 3.46. The average value of students' scientific attitudes obtained in each cycle is 2.36 in the first cycle, 3.13 in the second cycle, and 3.5 in the third cycle. While the average value of understanding student learning outcomes obtained in each cycle is 56.71 in cycle I, 78.35 in cycle II, and 88.96 in cycle III. Based on the success of this study, the authors recommend the Two Stay Two Stray Type of Cooperative Learning Model to teachers as an alternative in an effort to increase activity, scientific attitudes, and understanding of student learning outcomes, especially in social studies learning.
- Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa SDN kelas IV dalam proses pembelajaran, khususnya pembelajaran IPS, dimana proses pembelajaran dilakukan hanya dengan menggunakan metode ceramah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain model John Elliot. Model penelitian ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktiitas diskusi siswa, sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu dan berpikir terbuka siswa, dan pemahaman hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan, hal ini dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya nilai aktivitas, sikap ilmiah, dan pemahaman hasil belajar siswa dalam setiap siklusnya. Hasil perolehan nilai rata-rata aktivitas belajar diskusi siswa pada siklus I sebesar 2,63, siklus II sebesar 2,95, dan siklus III sebesar 3,46. Nilai rata-rata sikap ilmiah siswa yang diperoleh setiap siklusnya yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 2,36, siklus II sebesar 3,13, dan pada siklus III sebesar 3,5. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata pemahaman hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh setiap siklusnya yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 56,71, siklus II sebesar 78,35, dan siklus III sebesar 88,96. Berdasarkan keberhasilan penelitian ini, penulis merekomendasikan Model Cooperative Learning Tipe Two Stay Two Stray kepada para guru sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam upaya meningkatkan aktivitas, sikap ilmiah, dan pemahaman hasil belajar siswa khususnya dalam pembelajaran IPS.
