- This study aims to determine the prevalence and intensity of Strongyloides ransomi infections in pigs that were slaughtered at Pesanggaran animal slaughter house in Denpasar city. This study used 200 samples of pig feces. Stool samples are examined to determine the prevalence of infection using the floating method while the intensity of the infection determined using the Mc. Master method. The data obtained were presented descriptively. The results showed that the prevalence of S. ransomi infections was 5% with the intensity of infection was found that less than 500 eggs per gram of feces, it were categorized as having only mild infections.
- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan intensitas infeksi cacing Strongyloides ransomi pada babi yang dipotong di Rumah Potong Hewan Pesanggaran Kota Denpasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 sampel feses babi. Pemeriksaan sampel feses untuk mengetahui prevalensi infeksi menggunakan metode apung sedangkan untuk mengetahui intensitas infeksi menggunakan metode Mc Master. Data yang diperoleh disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi infeksi cacing S. ransomi pada babi yang dipotong di Rumah Potong Hewan Pesanggaran Kota Denpasar sebesar 5% dengan intensitas infeksi berdasarkan hasil perhitungan total telur per gram (EPG) didapatkan hasil kurang dari 500 butir telur per gram feses sehingga dikategorikan hanya mengalami infeksi ringan.
