FAMILY SUPPORT WITH DIABETIC ULKUS PREVENTION EFFECTS ON DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN POLICY DISEASES HOSPITAL BATAM

- Diabetes mellitus in Indonesia from year to year increase in number. from the results of preliminary studies conducted at ST Elisabeth Hospital Batam Batam on March 20, 2017 with Diabetes and 3 of whom had been hospitalized because of Diabetic ulcers. Patients also said that family support can not be felt by diabetic patients, the family is also less understood about their condition, but some of these patients also said less attention. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of family support with prevention efforts diabetic ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Design This research is an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The study was conducted in June to July 2017. The sample of this study is DM patients As many as 30 people who treated in Poly Diseases in the data collected by using questionnaires. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using chi-square statistic test. Based on the results of the study showed that from 30 respondents who supported the family as many as 13 people (43.3%) who experienced the prevention efforts of 15 people (50.0%) while the respondents who did not get the support of 17 people (56.7%) who experienced prevention efforts less 15 people (50.0%). From the calculation of chi square obtained value p Value of 0.025 ≤ 0.05 means Ho accepted. it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between family support with prevention efforts diabetic ulcers in patients with DM. The results of this study is an input for the Hospital in improving the quality of nursing care for Diabetes with the approach of family support in order to increase prevention efforts diabetic ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes.
