  • Certification is a Certificate of appreciation against the teacher as a determinant of the standard of academic qualifications and competence. Previous studies show that teachers who have been certified change their lives both financially and in terms of social status. This study aims to determine differences in self-esteem and subjective well-being on certified teachers and teachers are not certified. The hypothesis of this study was there are differences self-esteem and subjective well-being of certified teachers and teachers are not certified in SMA X at Baubau City. The population in this study was certified teachers and teachers are not certified of senior high schools at Baubau City. Sampling method used purposivesampling with sum of sample as much as 152 people that divided into 2 groups. Data analysis technique used statistical technique t-test (t test). The results of data analysis showed mean of self-esteem on certified teachers = 127.7 and subjective well-being = 122.5. Mean self-esteem of teachers are not certified =128,6 and subjective well being of teachers are not certified = 124,4 with value of t = -0,627 and value of p = 0.351 (p> 0,01) on self esteem and the value of t = 1.532 and p = 0,128 (p> 0,01 ) on subjective well being. The results obtained are no differences in self-esteem and subjective well-being between certified teachers and teachers are not certified.
