  • Paul gives teachings to the Philippians how to humble themselves like Jesus that Paul said to Philippians 2: 1-11. Paul delivered this when he heard the news from Epaphroditus about the threat of division within the church. In Philippians 2: 7 there is the term 'kenosis' that Paul uses, so many experts question Jesus' divine nature, namely when Jesus emptied himself of his divine nature apart from his human nature? Apparently Paul did not mean that because the word 'kenosis' that Paul used in this context is metaphorical rather than literal so that it embraces the understanding of Jesus which limits His omnipotence because it adds a human nature to Himself that allows Him to experience death.
