Clinker merupakan muatan yang memiliki diameter 0-40 mm dan tergolong
muatan yang mudah rusak apabila terkena air. Maka dari itu, penanganan kargo
clinker harus sesuai dengan prosedur dan juga alat yang digunakan harus memenuhi
standar. Apabila dalam proses bongkar muat menghasilkan residu kargo yang
banyak maka hal tersebut akan merepotkan, membahayakan serta merugikan
banyak pihak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab adanya residu
kargo serta melakukan cara untuk mengurangi adanya residu kargo clinker pada
saat proses bongkar muat. 
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan
datanya dengan cara studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.
Kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan fishbone analysis untuk menentukan
akar permasalahanya sehingga dapat ditemukan solusi yang tepat. 
Dari hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyebab
adanya residu kargo clinker adalah tidak terpenuhinya standar dalam proses
bongkar muat, pengabaian terhadap prosedur sebelum dan selama proses bongkar
muat, serta banyaknya kondisi peralatan yang tidak sesuai dan tidak layak
digunakan. Cara yang dapat digunakan yaitu menerapkan dan mematuhi prosedur,
melakukan cargo crane inspection, mengadakan safety meeting, menjalakan PMS
(Plan Maintenance System), mengadakan pembaharuan peralatan secara berkala,
pemilihan operator crane yang baik, menggunakan penutup tarpaulin, serta selalu
melakukan koordinasi antara crew kapal dengan petugas bongkar muat.

Clinker is a cargo that has 0-40 mm diameter and classified as easily demaged 
cargo if it is exposed to water. Therefore, the cargo handling clinker should
according the procedure as well as the equipment used must be in accordance with
standard. If in the discharging and loading process result a lot of cargo residue that
creates difficulties, hazardous also creates loss for lot of stakeholder. This research
has purpose to know the cause pf the cargo residue also do several mechanism to
lesser the existence of clinker cargo residue at discharging and loading process. 
This research done by descriptive qualitative method. The data gathering 
method is by literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. Then, it
is analyzed with fishbone analysis to determine the root of the problem, so the
correct solution could be found. 
From the result of the research, it could be summarized that the cause of the
clinker cargo residue is the incomplete standard of discharging and loading process,
the ignorance during discharging and loading process, also a lot of equipment
conditions that not according the standard and not suitable to be used. The
mechanism that could be used is to apply and comply with the procedure,
performing cargo crane inspection, holding safety meeting, performing PMS (Plan
Maintenance System), holding equipment update periodically, choosing qualified
operator crane, using cover of tarpaulin, also always done the coordination between
