Proses pelaksanaan bongkar muatan diharapkan dapat berhasil dengan baik 
dan berjalan dengan lancar, namun pada kenyataannya terdapat faktor-faktor yang 
menyebabkan terlambatnya proses bongkar. Untuk itu para perwira kapal dituntut 
untuk memiliki pengetahuan yang memadai baik secara teori maupun praktek
tentang jenis-jenis muatan, perencanaan pemuatan, sifat dan kualitas barang yang
akan di muat, perawatan muatan, penggunaan alat bongkar muat dan ketentuan lain
yang menyangkut masalah keselamatan kapal dan muatan. Tujuannya untuk
mengetahui faktor yang menyebabkan keterlambatan di MV. KT 02 pada saat
proses bongkar dan untuk mengetahui upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah
terjadinya keterlambatan proses bongkar muatan clinker.

Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, sedangkan teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi
yang berhubungan dengan penanganan muatan terutama pada saat proses bongkar.

Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat diperoleh data tentang faktor penyebab
keterlambatan proses bongkar muatan curah clinker yaitu kejadian putusnya wire crane
kapal, patahnya penyanggah roller belt dan as roller belt conveyor, operator crane yang
kurang terampil, kurangnya pengawasan petugas jaga saat proses bongkar. Maka untuk
menanggulangi hal tersebut dibutuhkan adanya kerja sama yang baik ditunjang dengan
pengawasan yang optimal serta perawatan alat bongkar muat yang rutin.

The process of loading and unloading is expected to be successful and run 
smoothly, but in reality there are factors that cause the delay in the unloading process.
For this reason, ship officers are required to have adequate knowledge both in theory 
and practice regarding the types of cargo, loading planning, nature and quality of goods 
to be loaded, cargo maintenance, use of loading and unloading equipment and other
provisions relating to ship safety issues and the charge. The aim is to find out the factors
that cause delays in the MV. KT 02 during the unloading process and to find out the
efforts made to prevent delays in the loading process of the clinker.

The method used is a descriptive qualitative method, while the data collection
techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation relating to handling
the load, especially during the unloading process.

From the results of this research can be obtained data about the factors that
cause delays in the process of unloading clinker bulk cargo, namely the breaking of
ship wire cranes, the breaking of the roller belt propeller and axle roller conveyor, the
less skilled crane operators, the lack of supervision of the guards during the unloading
process. So to overcome this it needs a good cooperation supported by optimal
