Daftar Isi:
- Salmonellosis is a desease caused by Salmonella sp. which has given rise to several serious outbreaks of infection in human and animals. The main therapy for inhibiting Salmonellosis in by conducting antibiotic on it. Each region has a different pattern of sensitivity for Salmonella sp. The sensitivity of antibiotics to a bacteria is crucial to adjusting new treatments and seeing the benefits of previous treatments. The purpose of the research is to analyze the sensitivity of Salmonella sp. against co-trimoxazole antibiotic. The research conducted on Microbiological Laboratory of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur on September 2017. The research is a descriptive research with a cross sectional study scheme of approach. It uses a purposive sampling technique. The sensitivity test it self is conducted by Kirby-Bauer’s procedural of paper disc diffusion modification. The principle of this method is an inhibition of microorganisms’ growth, e.g: inhbit zone will be seen as a clear zone around the area containing co-trimoxazole antibacterial substance. The clinician uses Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) with 0,5 turbidity standard of Mc Farland for her media. The assessment of co-trimoxazole antibiotic sensitivity is based on the size of its inhibit zone, and by measuring the magnitude of inhibit diameter that formed around antibiotic paper disk. If diameter of the inhibit zone is large, sensitivity will be higher. Interpretation of laboratory result is based on the form of inhibited zone and relevancy to the standard criteria of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) 2014. The clinician analyzes 9 samples of Salmonella sp. isolates from feces. Laboratory result of co-trimoxazole to Salmonella sp. showed an average diameter inhibit zone of 31,11 mm and Salmonella sp. 100% sensitive to co-trimoxazole.
