This&#xD; research aimed to describe the Author&#x2019;s view as his experience on Polynesian life.&#xD; Before describing the Author&#x2019;s View, the writer analyzes the author&#x2019;s Background&#xD; and experience&#x2019;s. Descriptive qualitative method was used as the method of this&#xD; research because the data of this research was presented in the form of dialogue&#xD; and narration, which the data sources was taken from novel Typee a peep at&#xD; polynesian life by Herman Melville and Historical guide to Herman Melville by&#xD; Giles Gunn. In order to answer the research question, The writer used Genetic&#xD; Structuralism by Lucien Goldmann to analyze the data since this theory concerned&#xD; to analyze and find the world view of the author toward his novel.&#xD; The results of this research are first, there is no Cannibalism practice in&#xD; polynesian. Second, behavior of Polynesian people are kind and polite. They are&#xD; not barbarians or even cannibal. Polynesian daily activies is not horrorable, their&#xD; life not savage and wild. The ritual of Polynesian life is same with other people,&#xD; they have religion and their ritual is the way to worship Gods. Next, Polynesian is&#xD; primitive but they are religious, They have religion and rule. Third, Melville&#x2019;s&#xD; view through the setting is the condition place in Nukuheva is not really beautiful,&#xD; however the atmosphere is good. The environment in Polynesian Life is safe and&#xD; there is no wild and savage people.
