  • The objective of this research is to analyze techniques of persuasion applied in the written texts of phrases and sentences of Samsung Galaxy Television Advertisement. The advertiser of Samsung Galaxy TV Advertisement used techniques of persuasion in order to persuade people to purchase the new released products of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. By applying qualitative research method, data found will be analyzed by using theory of techniques of persuasion proposed by Keraf (2004). Data were collected in form of phrases and sentences. Furthermore, the writer also took some captured parts of the video to deepen the analysis. The findings show that there were five main phrases which indicate the rhetorical techniques of persuasion and also 15 sub-phrases to mention the futuristic supportive products (Samsung Gears), features and specifications of the phones. Samsung Galaxy TV Ad also applied sentences only as the supportive texts to clarify the main phrases on the advertisement. The findings also revealed 3 techniques of persuasion on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Television Ad. Eventually it is drawn to the conclusion that the advertiser indeed made big concern and tendency in introducing superiorities of new invented features, specification and also supportive products of rhetorical persuasion technique of conformity as the supreme breakthrough of what futuristic and modern people need. And the advertiser also has concern to the identification technique to classify people based on their ages, sexes, hobbies, occupations, and social statuses.
