- This research deals with the concept of archetypal persona and shadow image as described Dexter character in Jeff Lindsay‟s Dexter is Delicious. It is conducted to analyze how Dexter generates complicity with its serial killer protagonist, Dexter Morgan also focus on his attempts to blend in and pass undetected by posing as a caring partner, father and co-worker. Through this research, the writer argues that in daylight, Dexter has many faces, as a blood-spatter analyst in MPD, as supporting brother and caring boyfriend. As the night comes, Dexter would appear as a serial killer to full fill his “Dark Passenger” desire to kill but also has “The Code of Harry” as his moral code. In this stage, the writer will compare several quotes in side the data source and archetype of persona and shadow by Carl Jung as supporting theory.Carl Jung was deeply concerned with how humankind maintains itssense of goodness, what he called the persona, at the cost of getting rid of all those unwanted aspects of the self, which he named „the Shadow‟. Shadow and persona plays important role to describe Dexter personality. Dexter‟s story a revealing window into reader own world of concept of Jungian persona and shadow in the eye of archetype.
