- AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk : Mengetahui bagaimana Strategi penerapan model pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write yang dapat meningkatkan komunikasi matematika siswa, dan mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan komunikasi matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian yaitu kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Objek penelitian adalah upaya meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write pada materi Bangun Datar Segiempat di kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Perbedaan perlakuan pada siklus I dan siklus II terletak pada tahap membimbing penyelidikan. Pada siklus I dibimbing secara individu, sedangkan siklus II dibimbing secara individu dan kelompok. Setiap akhir siklus diberikan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika sebanyak 4 soal. Dari hasil tes awal diketahui rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa 46,09 dengan presentase siswa yang telah mencapai nilai KKM sebesar 25% dari jumlah siswa. Setelah pemberian tindakan pada siklus I, rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa meningkat menjadi 64,25 dengan presentase siswa yang mencapai KKM sebesar 46,88% dari jumlah siswa. Setelah pemberian tindakan pada siklus II, rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa meningkat menjadi 76,56 dengan presentase siswa yang mencapai KKM sebesar 81,25% dari jumlah siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai sehingga pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa.Kata kunci: Think-Talk-Write, kemampuan komunikasi matematik, proses penyelesaian jawaban AbstractThe aim of this research is to Knowing how the strategy is the implementation of learning model Think-Talk-Write that can improve students 'mathematical communication, and know how to increase students' mathematical communication. This research is a classroom action research. The research subject is class VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai totaling 32 students. The object of research is an effort to improve communication skills through the application of mathematical learning model Think-Talk-Write on the flat quadrilateral.in class VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai in academic year 2015/2016. This research was conducted in two cycles. The difference in treatment in the first cycle and the second cycle lies in guiding the investigation stage. In the first cycle guided individually, while the second cycle guided individuals and groups. Each end of the given test cycle mathematical communication skills as much as 4 question. From the results of initial tests discovered that the average student mathematical communication skills 46.09 with the percentage of students who have reached the KKM amounted to 25% of total students. After administration of the action in the first cycle, the average math student communication skills increased to 64.25 with the percentage of students who achieve KKM amounted to 46.88% of the total number of students. After administration of the action on the second cycle, the average math student communication skills increased to 76.56 with the percentage of students who achieve KKM amounted to 81.25% of the total number of students. Based on these results it can be concluded that an increase in communication skills math class VII SMP Negeri 8 Binjai so learning by applying the learning model Think-Talk-Write can be used as an alternative learning mathematics to improve communication skills of students.Keywords: Think-Talk-Write, mathematical communication skills, the process ofstudents’ answers
