This study used a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research and uses a Pre-Experimental design in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The independent variable in this study is the animated video media, while the dependent variable is the students ability of writing in narrative text. The population in this study were all students of SD Inpres Banga Banga Barru Regency as many as 112 students, while the sample was class V with 20 students. The research data obtained by giving a test of learning achievement on essay writing material in the form of pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique is the Paired Sample T-Test. Based on the results of inferential statistical analysis, it was found that P = 0,000 was smaller than &#x3B1; = 0,05. It can be cocluded that the use of the animated video media has a significant to increas on the learning achievement of the V grade students of SD Inpres Banga Banga Barru Regency on ability of writing in narrative. Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media video animasi terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas V SD Inpres Banga Banga Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen dan menggunakan desain Pre-Experimental dalam bentuk One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah media video animasi, sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SD Inpres Banga Banga Kabupaten Barru sebanyak 112 orang, sedangkan sampelnya adalah kelas V dengan jumlah siswa 20 orang. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan memberikan tes pada materi menulis karangan narasi berupa pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data yaitu dengan uji Paired Sample T-test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistika inferensial diperoleh P = 0,000 lebih kecil dari &#x3B1; = 0,05. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media video animasi berpengaruh secara signifikan mengalami peningkatan pada siswa kelas V SD Inpres Banga Banga Kabupaten Barru terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi.
