Avocado seed (Persea Americana Mil) is part of avocado plant, that is very rarely
used and eventually it waste in environment. The using of avocado seed is as row
material of bioinhibitor, because avocado seed has some contents such as tannin, N,
and P. By extracting avocado seed is used as bioinhibitor. The using of avocado seed
ectract as bioinhibitor hopefully can be new alternative and can reduce the using of
syntetic inhibitors. In testing the effectiveness of the avocado seed as bioinhibitor
corrosion on carbon steel plate use lose weight method. The variable is used in
various concentration of corrosion medium (HCl solution 1M, 2M, 3M, 4M, and 5M)
and periode of immersion test (1week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, and 5 weeks). The
resut of research showed that total of tannin in avocado seed extract is 0,203008%.
The most effective of avocado seed extract is using on hydrocloric acid 2M solution
with immersion test 1 week and efficiency 94,6407%.
