Therefore taro (Colocasia&#xD; esculenta) can be used as raw material for biodegradable plastics. This study was&#xD; conducted to determine the addition of sorbitol to obtain better quality plastic&#xD; (optimum conditions). In this study conducted by varying sorbitol as much as&#xD; 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% of the weight of starch. The results showed that&#xD; the lower the composition of sorbitol is used then the resulting plastic is getting&#xD; hard and stiff, and conversely the more the composition of sorbitol are used then&#xD; the resulting plastic will be soft and easily crushed.
