  • The Use Of Activated Carbon From Rice Husk and Palm Shells as Adsorbents of Metal Ion Pb in Crude Oil Spill at The Drilling Putri Linda, 2014, 60 Halaman, 7 Tabel, 23 Gambar, 4Lampiran Waste oil contains a lot of harmful hydrocarbons and metals are toxic and poisonous. One of thesePb contained in the oil, so it requires the handling of waste so as not to pollute the environment. Processing is done by adsorption technique using activated carbon from rice husk and palm shells by determining the optimum mass absorption. Preparation of activated carbon consists of sample preparation process, carbonization, sieving with size ≤ 170 mesh, activation with H3PO4 2 M, washing and drying. Characterististic of activated carbon from rice husk while the standars of palm shells do not meet the quality standards water content of 3 % rice husk and 4% for palm shell while the ash content of 8% for rice husk and 14% for palm shell. Activated carbon is then contacted with a sewage spill of 100 mL with mass variation 3,6 and 9 grams. Best results absorption by rice husk activated carbon with optimum mass of 9 grams and 100 absorption efficiency.
