- The Forming of Biogas from Wastewater of Palm Oil Industry and Cow Manure (Eka Febriyanti, 2014, 59 Pages, 14 Table, 16 Picture, 4 Enclosure) Industrial wastewater palm oil (POME) is the largest agricultural industry in the world that has not been utilized well with many in number. Cow manure is one of the types of waste that livestock industry still has great benefits for the life of the world. Cow manure itself is usually only used as a fertilizer, while POME will only be accommodated.Besides wanting to process the waste not more useful into useful products. Demand fuels (fuel oil) in Indonesia, which each year will increase. Thus causing the fuel needs to be limited. Therefore, both the waste was going to be utilized in the formation of biogas (methane) or other alternative energy. In the cow manure and POME are found mainly cellulose, fats, and proteins. This study was conducted to utilize industrial wastes that are not useful to be more useful to the fermentation process for several weeks. Fermentation is done by 2 stages, the first stage of fermentation to process seed from cow manure materials and POME with a ratio of 1:2. The second stage, seed and POME back in fermentation to produce methane gas at a ratio (1:4, 1:8, 1:12, 1:16). Results obtained from this study is the comparison of seed and POME at 1:4 which produce more methane gas by 36%, where the percentage value resulting from these studies is almost in accordance with the quality standard of 40% CH4 content.
