Type of gasifier used in&#xD; this research is the updraft system. Producer gas or syngas produced in the updraft&#xD; system still contains a particulate form of tar. Tar is an organic impurity abortion&#xD; should be cleaned when applied as a fuel syngas combustion engine. The means&#xD; used to reduce the tar content in the syngas is by applying gas cleaning&#xD; technology, namely venturi scrubber with water media. This research purpose to&#xD; review the performance of venturi scrubbers to reduce tar carried by syngas by&#xD; varying the flow rate of water into the throat venturi scrubber. Variations in water&#xD; flow rate used was 8, 12 and 16 liter/min.
