The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of the&#xD; coal briquettes by adding corn cobs and rubber seed shell so that the resulted&#xD; briquettes biocoal qualified for the source of alternative energy. This research was&#xD; carried out by testing the raw material proximate analysis, the carbonization and&#xD; briquetting biocoal and the analysis covering the water content, ash content,&#xD; volatile matter content, fixed carbon, total sulfur and calorific value. The method&#xD; used in the reseach was by varying the carbonization time, namely 30 minutes and&#xD; 60 minutes, and varying the composition of the briquettes biocoal namely&#xD; 80:10:10, 60:20:20, and 50:25:25.
