  • Alternative fuel sources that can assist in reducing kerosene consumption is by using waste oil as a fuel mixture in the pressure stove waste oil. Waste oil is not well used continuously because it can cause cancer in the long term. Then one solution is made by the researchers for mixing waste oil as a fuel in the pressure stove waste oil. The research aimed investigating (1) determine the effect of the optimal mixture ratio waste oil and kerosene to the thermal efficiency of the pressure stove waste oil, (2) determine the effect of the optimal mixture ratio waste oil and kerosene to the fuel quality parameters such as the flash point, smoke point and calorific value. The process of data collection and testing performed by variation of the ratio in volume percent mixture of waste oil and kerosene, respectively (0:100; 20:80; 40:60; 60:40; 80:20; 100:0). The result showed the highest thermal efficiency in a mixture ratio of 20:80% is 43%, mixture ratio of 40:60% is 34%, mixture ratio of 60:40% is 32%, mixture ratio of 80:20% is 29%. The best quality is obtained at a mixture ratio of 20:80% is 10294,824 kcal/kg calorific value, 33°C flash point, 45 mm smoke point and a blue flame color slightly reddish. Based on the results concluded that the lower percentage for using waste oil generated the higher thermal efficiency. Keyword : pressure stove, mixture ratio, thermal efficiency, calorific value
