  • The purpose of this research was to know what errors are produced by Google Translate Application in Indonesia to English. This research was a qualitative research, and it presented the data with a content descriptive method to describe the errors produced by Google Translate Application. The object of this research was the Guiding Technique Textbook. It was written by Mr. ErmanrumRivai in 2017. This textbook was taught to the fourth semester students of English Department of State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya. The data used in this research were three texts in the Guiding Technique Textbook page 16-19. The texts were about Masjid Agung, BentengKutoBesak, and Bidar Racing. In order to collect the data, the writer translated three texts by Google Translate Application and identified the errors in the translated texts. Based on the findings, the writer found some errors in the target text translated by using Google Translate Application, they were lexical error (wrong word choice), syntactic or grammar error (preposition, tenses, article the), semantic error (collocation), and translation-specific error (inconsistency). The errors were analyzed using the book written by Azar (2006) and the fourth edition of Oxford Dictionary (2008).
