  • Imbalances in the distribution transformer load occurs due to the accumulation of the load on one phase. Load imbalance causes the current flowing in the neutral conductor transformer, neutral current flowing in the transformer caused power losses in the neutral conductor. To reduce the amount of neutral current and the losses that occurred then performed the load balancing by moving loads (house connections) of a large phase conductor to smaller phase conductors. This research was conducted to determine the value of neutral current and neutral conductor losses before and after the load balancing. Measurement and calculation of the final report is done on the outside of peak load and peak load on the distribution transformer substation I.2013 at PT PLN (Persero) Rayon Sukarame. Based on calculations, the neutral current before the load balancing are 45 A and 107 A and the losses that occur as a result of neutral current are 2.265 kW and 9.063 kW. However, after the load balancing, the neutral current is reduced to 11.3 A and 14.4 A because of the neutral current is reduced so the losses in the neutral conductor lessened to 0.97 kW and 3.068 kW. This means that the load balancing program can minimize the amount of current and the losses that occur in the neutral conductor of the distribution transformer.
