The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of NaOH solution in the activation of chemical characteristics of the activated carbon and for the application of activated carbon as dyes adsorbent liquid waste of songket weaving. Durian shell is cleaned and cut into pieces, and heated in the oven at 110&#x2070;C for 2 hours, then at 500&#x2070;C carbonization temperature for 2 hours. Activated carbon was produced by carbonication process result were crushed and sieve to powder&#x2019;s size in 200 mesh. Chemical activation process of activated carbon from durian shell done by soaking the activated carbon in various concentration of NaOH solution at 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% for 24 hours. The result carbon washed with aquadest until its neutral, after that analyzed the water content, ash content, absorption ability of the iodine solution, and activated carbon adsorption percentase of dyes.
