  • The making of the activated carbon from king fruit skins as an adsorbent has been done within 4 months. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of KOH solution in the activation of chemistry to the characteristics of product and to the application of activated carbon as dyes adsorbent of tenun songket liquid waste. The skin’s cleaned, chopped and heated in the oven at 1100C within 2 hours and then carbonicated at 5000C within 2 hours. Activated carbon was produced by carbonication process result were downsizing and sieve to powder’s size by 200 mesh. Chemical activation process of activated carbon from king fruit skins is done by soaking the activated carbon in various concentration of KOH solution at 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% for 24 hours. Carbon washed by aquadest until its netral, after that analizing the water content, ash content, absorption ability of the iodine solution, and activated carbon adsorption percentase of dyes. The best result of activated carbon from king fruis skins characteristics was obtain at this study using 20% KOH activators with 1,228% water content, 2,365% ash content, adsorptive capacity of iodium is 875,679 mg/g, 6 ppm concentrations of aplication adsorbsion of tenun songket liquid waste and time contact at 45 minutes.
