  • Biogas is a renewable energy that produced through a process of anaerobic fermentation of organic material by methanogenic bacteria that produce methane (CH4). In this research, the raw material is cow manure. The aim of this research is to obtain the rate constant of degradation on the production of biogas in Digester Fixed Dome Type. Biogas technology has been developed by previous researches, for example on research conducted by Anugrah (2010) which uses household wastes as raw materials in the production of biogas. Research results show the biogas produced is still relatively low at 0.5 to 3 liters within 45 days. Based on previous research weakness then made Mini Plant Biogas Digester Fixed Dome Type. According Gunnerson and Stucky (1986), to calculate the volume of biogas and the generated power would required rate constant of degradation. The rate constant of degradation in the design is 1.445 dt-1 with a volume of biogas 1.83 m3, while on the research showed the rate constant of degradation 1.250 dt-1 with a volume of biogas 1,817 m3 and produced power generated 0,287 kW. The discrepancies between design and research results due to a decrease volatile solid that degraded influenced biodegrabilitas level of organic materials by microorganisms.
