  • The Microalgae is one of a renewable energy source because it has several advantages which have a short harvest period, resulting in high lipids, does not produce hazardous waste as well as the ability to survive in extreme conditions. In this study , we used of microalgae types Chorella vulgaris which aims to study the growth phase in the review of the number density of the cells with the aid of a hemocytometer and determine the type of optimum solvent in the process of lipids extraction using maceration method with variation of solvent (acetone, ethanol, chloroform-methanol, isopropanol and n-hexane). From the results of cultivation of Chorella vulgaris microalgae is known that the exponential phase occurred on day 6 with the number of the highest cell density of 4.861 x 104 cells / mL. Then from the lipid extraction of lipids obtained the highest at 34% of solvent Chloroform-methanol with a solvent ratio of 2: 1. From the analysis result of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) of the fatty acid content in Chorella vulgaris microalgae known contain oleic acid by 5.83%, amounting linoleic acid by 5.79% and palmitic acid 1,96%.
