PENGERINGAN KEMOREAKSI MENGGUNAKAN ADSORBEN KALSIUM OKSIDA (CaO) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN STANDAR MUTU JAHE MERAH (Zingiber officinalle var. amarum)

- The purpose of this study was to use calsium oxide to chemoreaction drying, ginger slice thickness and energy efficiency of the chemoreaction drying. The study was conducted by drying ginger with a room temperature drying method in a sealed dryer rack cabinet type. The materials used in this study is the ginger rhizome with thickness variation of 1.0 mm; 1.5 mm; 2.0 mm; and 2.5 mm. The water content of the samples was determined through moisture content analysis test with the oven method. The results of the water content analysis showed that the lowest value of water content obtained on dry ginger with a thickness of 1 mm after chemoreaction drying for 34 hours of 12,5348%. While the highest value of water content obtained on dry ginger with a thickness of 2.5 mm after 24 hours drying of 23,5785%. And the highest value of energy efficiency of chemoreaction drying obtained on dry ginger with a thickness of 1 mm after chemoreaction drying for 34 hours of 82,8006%. While the lowest value of energy efficiency of chemoreaction drying obtained on dry ginger with a thickness of 2.5 mm after 24 hours drying of 58,2782%.
