Calcination of lime mud require fuel energy, natural gas, which is great for burning lime mud in rotary lime kiln with a high temperature reaches 1100oC with the air supply approximate are taken using the ID fan heading to rotary lime kilns, where the air is in addition to the combustion process is also to set the fire in order to form a stable heat generated. In this research study on the energy consumption of natural gas and the identification and analysis of energy savings opportunities in the lime kiln plant. Results of research on the lime kiln plant known energy consumption of natural gas with a percentage of 97% (84926.16 MMBtu or 240.84 MMBtu/ton lime product) and electricity 3% (2.692.97 MMBtu or 0.24 MMBtu/ton lime product) with an average production of 355.97 tons of lime products. Based on observations conducted found that the saving energy opportunities heat loss utilization on the rotary lime kiln shell with a savings of 14.63 MMBtu/d equivalent to 499.07 Liters of diesel/d.
