  • PROTOTYPE HYDROGEN GENERATOR WITH INSULATING COTTON (The Effect of Concentration of Sodium Hydroxide Electrolyte for Hydrogen Generator) (Egit Andika Putra, 2016, 72 Pages, 42 Tables, 11 Pictures, 4 Appendixes) Water is one of natural resources which can be find anywhere. The utilization of water as alternative energy can be done by electrolysis process for producing hydrogen. It needs electrict current and electrolite such as NaOH to change water to hydrogen. The variation of electolite NaOH concentrations are 0,25 M, 0,5 M, 0,75 M, 1M, and 1,25 M, and for electrical voltage is 15 volt. For the electrode is using stainless steel pipe with 30 cm length for katode and 8 cm length for anode. From this problems then prototype hydrogen generator with insulating cotton is designed for producing hydrogen. From the calculation, producing of hydrpgen is increasing with the increasing of NaOH concentration. The production of hydrogen reach its peak at 15 volt with 1,25 M concentration with the acquistion of 133 mL and reach its downward at 15 volt with 0,25 M concentration with the acquistion of 104,2 mL. For the eficiency, it is decreasing with the increasing of NaOH concentraton. Bigger the production of hydrogen, bigger the energy to process it.
