However, processing sugar cane leaves is still limited as organic waste or firewood substitute for traditional cooking needs. Sugarcane leaves contain cellulose that could potentially be used as a filler to produce the composite with Recycled Polypropylene (Rpp) matrix. The aim of this research is to know the effect of varied percent of NaOHtoward the treatment of sugarcane leaf fibers in order to obtain a better composite product. Sugarcane fibbers which is supported by recycled polypropylene composites were arranged randomly and pressed by moulding technique. Manufacturing of composites in this research is done by hotpress process with varied percent of NaOH thus determine its effect on the physical and mechanical properties of the composites based on SNI 03-2105-2006 and JIS A 5908-2003. Alkaline step with varied percents of NaOH (1%, 3% and 5%) aims to determine the smallest lignin composition which is derived from the treatment which affects the characteristics of the nature and mechanics on composite. In the composite molding process use a hotpress.
