The purpose of this experiment is to determine the influence of the activator of activated carbon base on quality that refer to SNI 06-3730-95 and activated carbon adsorption capacity to adsorb ferrous metals. The process to make activated carbon from avocado seed consists of the carbonization process at 500&#xB0;C for 1 hour and for the activation process use chemical activation method with soak it in acid phosphate (H3PO4) as activator and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) for 24 hours with various concentrations of 1 M, 1,5 M, 2 M, 2,5 M and 3 M then wash it until the pH is neutral. The analysis consist of moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, carbon content, the number of iodine and ferrous metals adsorption capacity. In determining the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon use ferrous metals with the amount of 1 g and an ferrous metals content measured by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer.
