- Fuel oil and gases are important in the economic activities and human life. Therefore, demand and consumption of fuel oil and gases are increasing in line with increasing human population and growth of economic society, as well as the development of the industry worldwide. Keep in mind that the oil and gas reserves, especially in Indonesia are depleting and it is estimated in the hundreds of years into the future will be exhausted. So in anticipation rising prices of fuel oil and gases needed alternative fuels are cheap and easy to obtain. One of alternative fuel that can be used is biobriquette. Biobriquette is the alternative fuel that consisting of clumps or sticks of charcoal from biomass materials. In this research, biobriquette made from bagasse and coconut shell with adhesive content variation of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%. The purpose of this research is to knows the effect of variations in the levels of starch adhesive toward quality of the result of biobriquette and to get the best biobriquette include moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and calorific value that based on ISO standards No.01/6235/2000. The method used in this research is the experimental method. Making this biobriket through several stages, ie the preparation of raw materials, carbonization, briquetting, and product analysis. The result of this research, that all of adhesive variations of the content that used adhesive content of 10% because it has the lowest water content, which is 1,97%, the lowest ash content is 5,37%, and the The highest calorific value is equal to 6725, 5041 calories / gram.
