One of the forming elements of coal is sulfur. Coal in Indonesia tends to have a relatively high sulfur content, especially in the low grade coal. The content of sulfur in coal can cause negative impact on the processing and negative impacts on the environment. One method that can be used to reduce the sulfur content in coal is by using electrolysis with constant stirring speed of 300 rpm. The electrodes that used in this research are graphite electrode as the anode and stainless steall as cathode with the variation of time electrolysis and the concentration of the electrolyte solution. From the result of this research, the highest percent reduction of sulfur content is 30 minutes, concentration of 1 M.
